The Cape

Knot two pairs of corners and slip your arms through: a scarf becomes a little cape.

The Cape is pure play. Two knots turn a square into a little cape with armholes, and it shows off both sides of the dye. Dash-dyed fabric is never quite the same on the back as on the front, so you get two looks in one.

Best with: the Wild Rag, a 36″ square of silky 100% rayon challis with an eyelash fringe. Also works with: the Festival Sarong.

How to tie The Cape

  1. Spread the scarf out flat.
  2. Tie the top-left and bottom-left corners together in a small knot. Do the same on the right side.
  3. Slip your arms through the spaces you made and settle it over your shoulders.

Sensory note

Make it feel good

Use a Wild Rag for a little shrug, or a Festival Sarong for a full, flowing cape.

Wear it with: A dress on a cool evening, or over a tank top between seasons.
