Scott Van Sice is a man in motion.
A performance artist, arborist, and nature enthusiast, he moves between worlds — tending trees by day and performing with fire and flow by night. Whether at silent discos, ecstatic dances, or festivals, Scott carries a presence that is both grounded and electric.
And yet, when he stepped into the golden palette, something shifted.
He didn’t just move.
He radiated.

How We Met
I met Scott through Kami and Emmy from Dance the Planets, who spoke about his joyful, open energy.
And when I met him in person, it was immediately clear.
Scott is kind. Playful. Expressive.
He uses his body to bring joy into spaces.

Who He Is
Scott is a generator of warmth.
He moves through the world with openness — meeting people with curiosity, play, and a willingness to engage. His body is his language, and through it he invites others to loosen, to laugh, to join.
There is no hesitation in him when it comes to expression.
The golden palette didn’t create that energy — it amplified it.
Scott is someone who creates heat in cold spaces. Who brings light where there isn’t any yet. Who reminds people, simply by being himself, that joy is something we’re allowed to embody fully.

Why These Colors
Scott initially leaned toward his usual palette — greens and browns.
But then he said something unexpected.
He wanted to explore the energy of a firebender.
In the world of Avatar, firebenders draw their power from the sun — becoming stronger with heat, light, and intensity.
So we shifted the palette:
- Dandelion
- Marigold
- Bronze
Colors of warmth, energy, and ignition.

The Look
Scott dyed pieces himself, shaping the direction of the look as we went:
- Dandelion t-shirt
- Marigold overshirt
- Bronze scarf kerchief
- Marigold wrap
- Gradient pants
The layers built a spectrum of heat — from bright flame to glowing ember.
And because everything was made from natural fibers, the look remained functional for his fire spinning practice.

The Session
We shot inside Frederik Meijer Gardens, where light cascades down from above.
Scott began to move — juggling, balancing, shifting his weight — and suddenly the space transformed.
It felt like the light itself was responding to him.
He did handstands. Played with the air. Drew in an audience as children gathered to watch.
Scott doesn’t just perform.
He amplifies energy.
Even on a cold day, he brought warmth into the space.

Color Connection
These are sun tones — warm yellows grounded by bronze.
Together, they create something deeper than brightness.
They create heat.
This palette sits at the edge of light and earth — like a sunset — where warmth lingers and spreads outward.
These colors don’t just illuminate.
They warm everything they touch.

Men in Motion
Scott didn’t just wear the sun.
He became it.
And in doing so, he reminded everyone around him that warmth is something we can generate —
from within.
